India vs Afghanistan T20I Series: India are set to host Afghanistan for a three-match T20I series earlier next year the latter announced on Tuesday through their social media handle.
Afghanistan will tour India with the first T20I match scheduled for 11th January and the final match will be played on 17 January.
It will be the first time the two teams will play each other in a white-ball series, having only faced each other in ACC and ICC events.
The first match will be held in Mohali followed by the second T20I match which will take place in Indore on 14th January 2024.

The final match of the T20I series will take place in Bengaluru on the 17th of January 2024.
India, who will kick off a T20I series at home against Australia on Thursday, will add more to their preparations with the Afghanistan series for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
Talking about bilateral meets, both teams have featured in just a single Test match that took place in Bengaluru in 2018 with India winning by an innings and 262 runs.
Afghanistan are one of the most improved sides in the world cricket as of now as they continue to impress everyone with their passion and determination on the field, putting in remarkable performances against the better-ranked sides.
They had a memorable outing at the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 where they finished at the sixth spot.
Afghanistan were in the race to make it to the semi-finals until the end, having registered wins over top sides like England, Pakistan Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
They missed out on the top-four finish by just two points as New Zealand got an extra win to send them through to the knockouts.
However, they managed to seal the qualification for the upcoming Champions Trophy which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2025.
Afghanistan will have better preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup when they go up against a strong side like India.
With several players having exposure to T20 cricket through IPL, Afghanistan are expected to emerge as a threat to the other teams in the marquee tournament.
Meanwhile, India will kick off their T20I action with the five-match T20I series against Australia, starting off from November 23, 2023.
Suryakumar Yadav has been announced as the captain of the side marking his first stint of captaincy for the Indian team.
