India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat against India by 7 wickets in the Asia Cup 2025 match 6 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 14.

After opting to bat first, Pakistan had a disappointing outing and were restricted to 127/9 in their 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan was the top run-getter for the Men in Green with a 40-run knock, whereas Shaheen Afridi played a late but impactful cameo of 33 runs in 16 balls. He smashed four sixes.

India ended up chasing down the target in just 15.5 overs and have all but assured qualification to the Super Four with two wins from two. Pakistan, on the other hand, still have a positive net run-rate, and will be favourites to be the second team to qualify; there is a chance they fail to make the top two in the group.

If Pakistan lose their remaining match against the hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE), and UAE also beats Oman, then UAE will finish on four points to Pakistan's two.

UAE currently sit rock bottom with a net run-rate of -10.483. However, victories in their two remaining games will take net run-rate out of the equation.

On the other hand, if Oman beats table-toppers India and UAE, and Pakistan lose or faces a no result against UAE, Oman will qualify ahead of Pakistan. A less likely scenario is rain playing spoilsport to Pakistan's chances. No rain is forecast in Dubai over the coming week.

However, if Pakistan lose their match against UAE and UAE's last match against Oman is washed out by rain, UAE will still finish on higher points than Pakistan.

Pakistan will be up against the UAE in their last group A match which is scheduled to be played in Dubai on Wednesday, September 17.

"Great feeling and a perfect return gift to India. Human tendency that it keeps running in your mind when you think about it (his earlier line about the win being a return gift). You definitely want to win it and when you win it, you have it ready. One box that I always wanted to tick - stay there and bat till the end. For the whole team, we think it's just another game," Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said.
