IND vs UAE, Asia Cup 2025 Highlights: A superlative effort from Team India was on display at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as the Suryakumar Yadav-led side registered a record victory against the UAE in their Asia Cup 2025 opener on Wednesday. Indian bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Shivam Dube picked up 7 wickets between them as India bowled the UAE for just 57 runs before completing the chase in 4.3 overs with 9 wickets to spare.

In the short chase, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill opened the batting and entertained the crowd with their sumptuous shots. The commentators realised that the UAE bowlers had no chance to defend this courtesy of some effortless hitting from the openers.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who was part of the commentary panel, didn't mince his words as he almost went into an 'ecstatic' state seeing some shots. One such shot was the flick of the wrists from Gill, which went over the square-leg boundary for a maximum.

Gill walked down the track as he just flicked a full-length delivery, with the power of his wrists.

“Look at that shot, look at that shot, unbelievable into the stands," Akram remarked.

“Just a flick of the wrist, unbelievable shot," he added.

Suryakumar got off the mark in his trademark swish over fine leg for six while Gill went on the backfoot to pull Simranjeet Singh past mid-on for four to complete a statement win for the Indian team.

With a superior net run rate of 10.480, India sent a bold statement to their nemesis, Pakistan and the rest of the participating nations. The Indian skipper had a simple message before the pulsating contest and said, "We are all excited, everyone wants to play a good game, and we are really looking forward to it."
