The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added fast bowler Harshit Rana in India's squad for the third ODI against Afghanistan which will take place on June 20 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Rana, who was on the road to recovery, has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and has now joined the Indian team in Chennai.
How Harshit Rana get injured?
Rana had been out of action after suffering a ligament strain in his right knee during India’s warm-up match against South Africa ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Navi Mumbai. The injury forced him to leave the game after bowling just one over. He later underwent surgery and was ruled out of the tournament. Mohammed Siraj was included in the squad as his replacement, and India eventually went on to win the T20 World Cup on home soil.

The fast-bowling all-rounder has also been included in India’s squad for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England, where the team will play seven T20 Internationals.
