Duleep Trophy 2024: During the Duleep Trophy match, India D had taken a huge lead against India C on the back of brilliant performances by Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal. Iyer played a captain's innings as he scored 54 runs off 44 balls, whereas Padikkal scored a gritty knock of 56 runs off 70 balls. Their performances helped the team bounce back after a disastrous start and put them in the driver's position at stumps on the second day after openers Atharv Taide and Yash Dubey fell cheaply.

The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side India C was skittled out for 168 runs, on the back of the brilliant bowling performance of Harshit Rana, who registered figures of 4/33, and Axar Patel, who took two wickets and conceded 46 runs. But at the same time, India suffered a batting collapse as Vijaykumar Vyshak rattled their batting lineup by quickly taking the wickets of Taide and Dubey.

Iyer and Padikkal then helped the team bounce back by maintaining their composure. Iyer's aggressive approach along with Padikkal's gritty knock helped the team make a comeback in the game. After Iyer got out, it was Ricky Bhui, who scored a gritty knock of 44 runs off 91 balls. But they again suffered a batting collapse as batters like Saranshh Jain and Arshdeep Singh were dismissed for ducks.
