International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ODI World Cup 2023 team and named Rohit Sharma as the captain of the side that features six Indian players including Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Rohit led his side to a 10-match winning streak before losing the title to Australia. He finished the tournament as the second-highest run-getter with 597 while Kohli recorded the highest-ever runs in a single edition of the World Cup. Kohli struck three centuries and five fifties in the tournament to accumulate 765 runs.

ICC's ODI World Cup team is dominated by Indian players with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami also featuring in the side.
Jadeja picked 16 wickets and also scored 120 runs while Shami ended with 24 wickets in the tournament to get the highest wicket-taker tag. Bumrah picked 20 wickets in 11 matches of the World Cup.
World Cup winners Australia have only two players in the side - Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa.

New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have one player each in the team. Daryl Mitchell, who finished with 552 runs at an average of 69, is picked for the no. 4 spot while Quinton de Kock (594 runs) will open the innings with Rohit Sharma.
Sri Lanka's pacer Dilshan Madushanka has been picked in the bowling department. He bagged 21 scalps in nine matches for Sri Lanka.
South Africa's pacer Gerald Coetzee has been named as the 12th player in the team. He picked 20 wickets in eight matches for Proteas at an average of 19.80.

12th player: Gerald Coetzee (South Africa) – 20 wickets at 19.80
The selection panel consisted of Ian Bishop, Kass Naidoo, Shane Watson (Commentators), Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager, Cricket) and Sunil Vaidya (Journalist, Ahmedabad Mirror).
