IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: The Indian Cricket Team, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, created an unwanted record of consecutive 18th toss losses in the ODI format. Notably, before Gill assumed captaincy in the format, former skipper Rohit Sharma had a hot streak of 15 consecutive coin toss losses. Interestingly, Gill called it wrong yet again at the Sydney Cricket Ground, where India is looking to secure a consolation win against Australia after losing the series at Adelaide.

The odds of losing or winning the toss can always be 50-50. However, losing them 18 times in a row is sheer tough luck for the entire side.

Before Rohit, Netherlands' Peter Borren held the record for the highest losses (11) from 2011 to 2013.

Australia Batting First In Sydney

Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bat in the third and final One-day International against India, here on Saturday. Australia made one change, bringing in Nathan Ellis in place of Xavier Bartlett.

India skipper Shubman Gill brought in wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna in place of pacer Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Reddy missed the third ODI because of a left quadriceps injury.

"Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis," said the team management in a statement.
