IND vs PAK: Rivalry Takes A Back Seat As India Blow Pakistan Away In 7-Wicket Rout

India produced a dominant performance to beat Pakistan by seven wickets in their Women’s T20 Asia Cup Group A match in Dubai on Saturday.

The Indian spinners did most of the damage, with Shree Charani and Prema Rawat picking up three wickets each. Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 in 18.1 overs, their lowest-ever total in Women’s T20I cricket.

India had little trouble chasing the target, reaching 58 for three in only 8.4 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur stayed unbeaten on 18 to guide her side home.

The victory was India’s third in a row in the tournament. With six points, they have already booked their place in the semi-finals. Pakistan, meanwhile, have two points and now face a must-win game against Hong Kong to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Shafali Verma gave India an early breakthrough when she bowled Muneeba Ali for 13. Charani then took control in the sixth over, removing Gull Feroza for a duck before dismissing Shawaal Zulfiqar for 14.

Pakistan were reduced to 29 for three and soon found themselves in deeper trouble. They slipped to 32 for four in the eighth over and struggled to build any partnership.

Rawat continued Pakistan’s collapse, while Deepti Sharma also chipped in with two wickets for just five runs. By the 13th over, Pakistan had fallen to 45 for seven and never recovered.

Their final total of 55 was their lowest in T20Is. Pakistan’s previous lowest score was 63, which they made in 19.1 overs against India in Guangzhou during the group stage of the 2012 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup.
