India vs South Africa 3rd ODI: In an interesting turn of events, one of Virat Kohli's suggestions was turned down by India's stand-in captain, KL Rahul, during the third and final ODI match against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Virat and the other senior batter Rohit Sharma looked remarkably active on the field and have even been taking the initiative with their respective suggestions to the captain. Notably, both Virat and Rohit are the former Indian captains and now play just the ODI format following their retirements from T20I and Test formats.

During South Africa's innings in the series decider, Kohli was seen telling Rahul to have two slips during a little chat between the overs while the spinners were on as the hosts looked to wrap things up as soon as possible. Rahul listened patiently and then appeared to be instructing Kohli to take his position on the field. He then asked Rohit to come forward.

With an aim to clinch the series, India managed to win the toss after a long wait and opted to bowl first. On the back of four wickets each from Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna, the hosts bowled South Africa out for 270 in 47.5 overs.

The senior batter Virat is the top run-getter in the ongoing three-match series with 237 runs to his name.
