IND vs ZIM, 3rd T20I: India's star all-rounder Washington Sundar is concentrating on giving his 100 percent and is not interested in grabbing the all-rounder's position, which is now vacant after Ravindra Jadeja's retirement from the shortest format. Jadeja announced his retirement after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup final.

Sundar, who was adjudged the Player of the Match award in the 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, was also asked about the same thing. He revealed that he is concentrating on performing well for the team by giving his 100 percent. He admitted that he wants to give everything in all the practice sessions and the matches that he would play.

"I need to do well where I am good at and what I am capable of, especially with my preparation. I need to give my 100 per cent every single day. That's something that I have not compromised on," Washington told reporters in the post-match press conference.

Sundar, who was replaced by Nitish Kumar Reddy, in SRH's playing XI in IPL 2024, revealed that he is quite confident with his abilities both as a batter and bowler. His bowling prowess was evident on Wednesday as he slowed down Zimbabwe's innings, with the pitch assisting him as he took 15 wickets and gave away 15 runs in the four overs that he bowled.

"It (preparing well) keeps me in the present and obviously I am very confident as well (about his skills). It's a great opportunity for me to play for India, and I am blessed with it. I need to keep my job consistently and keep preparing and keep getting better. That way everything will be taken care of," he further said.

The Shubman Gill-led side defeated Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the 3rd T20I on Wednesday. While batting first, the Men in Blue scored 182/4 on the back of a match-winning half-century by skipper Shubman Gill. While chasing Zimbabwe could only score 159/6 .
