IND vs AUS 2nd T20I: India vice-captain Shubman Gill had put up a disappointing performance in the 2nd T20I against Australia at the MCG on Friday. Gill, who opened the innings along with Abhishek Sharma, scored just 5 runs off 10 balls.

He has scored 747 runs in his T20I career till now after playing in 30 innings at an average of 28.73, which includes one ton and 3 fifties. After his yet another disappointing performance, Gill was trolled brutally by the fans, who also questioned his position in the team. He pipped Yashasvi Jaiswal in India's Asia Cup team and became the vice-captain of the team.

At the same time, Yashasvi Jaiswal's last appearance for India in this format was way back in July 2024 against Sri Lanka, as Gill had also last played for India in this format. Jasiwal has a brilliant record in the shortest format, having scored 723 runs in 22 innings at an average of 36.15, which includes one hundred and five fifties.
The visitors suffered a batting collapse as Josh Hazlewood rattled their top order. He first dismissed Suryakumar Yadav. He then took the wicket of Tilak Verma for a duck, who mistimed a shot, and Josh Inglis took the catch. Nathan Ellis took the wicket of Sanju Samson by lbw, and the visitors were reeling at 32/4 in 4.5 overs.
