IND vs NZ ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final: New Zealand's star opener Rachin Ravindra has been awarded the Player of the Tournament title of the recently concluded mega-event. He became the second Kiwi player to have won this title during an ICC event after Kane Williamson, who had won it during the 2019 ODI World Cup.
He had scored 263 runs after playing in four matches in the recently concluded mega-event, held in Pakistan and Dubai. He had scored two hundred against teams like Bangladesh and South Africa and that too at a staggering average of 67.75 and he scored his highest individual score was 112 runs against Bangladesh.
He didn't play during the tournament opener against Pakistan but still scored the highest runs of the tournament. During the summit clash against the Rohit Sharma-led side, he scored a gritty knock of 37 runs off 29 balls. Kuldeep Yadav then dismissed him by bowling a googly in the 11th over.
The Mitchell Santner-led side suffered yet another heartbreak despite Rachin Ravindra's heroics throughout the tournament. He announced his arrival to international cricket in style in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where they lost the semifinals.
During the summit clash of the recently concluded mega-event, India defeated New Zealand by four wickets and won their third title. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma led the team from the front as he scored a match-winning knock of 76 runs and KL Rahul's unbeaten knock of 34 runs took the team across the line in 49 overs.
During the first innings, New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell scored fifties each and helped the team post a respectable target of 251/7 on a sluggish pitch in Dubai.
