South Africa skipper Aiden Markram has won the toss and chose to bat first against India during their Super 8s clash in Ahmedabad. 

Just few minutes are left for the toss to happen. Whichever team wins the toss will choose to bowl first as has been the trend on surfaces in India. Whatever the result of the toss might be, the upcoming clash promises to be a nail-biting thriller. 

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side have won four consecutive matches in the ongoing mega event till now but they haven't been at their absolute best. They didn't ask the right questions during their group stage matches but they know that they need to work on their batting. Except for opener Ishan Kishan, who has smashed two half-centuries and is batting at a strike rate of 202, none of the other three batters have performed consistently so far. 

Its the sixth time that both these teams will be facing each other in the shortest format since the last three months. They first faced each other in a five-match T20I series in December 2025, which the Men in Blue won by a margin by 3-1. One match was washed out owing to bad weather conditions. The players of both the teams are well aware of each other performances and the newness factor won't play a role here. 

The Proteas consist of a brilliant bowling attack like Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj and Aiden Markram and the reigning champions India are quite aware of the challenges. The Indian batters will face a stiff test from these bowlers.
