New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: The third and final T20I between India and West Indies was held at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Wednesday. The match saw many records that were made in the match. First, it was vice-captain and opening batsman Rohit Sharma, who became the only third player to slam 400 sixes in international cricket while team India also achieved a feat from the team's point of view.
It was the first instance when three players scored 70 runs or more a T20I. Opener Rohit scored 71 runs off just 34 deliveries while his partner Lokesh Rahul slammed 91 runs off 56 balls before missing out on his third T20I century while skipper Virat Kohli blasted unbeaten 70 runs off just 29 deliveries.
Earlier there were three instances when three players have scored half-centuries for the same team in a T20I. It includes India (2007), South Africa (2016), and Australia (2019).
In the match, West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, India scored 240/3 in the stipulated 20 overs. skipper Kieron Pollard, Kesrick Williams and Sheldon Cottrell scalped one wicket each.
In reply, West Indies could only manage 173/8, losing the match by 67 runs and series 2-1. Mohammad Shami was the pick of the bowlers for the men in blue. He ended up with figures of 4-0-25-2 while Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep and Chahar too shared two-wickets each.
India won their first consecutive series after November 2018. They had defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the T20I series last month. The Men in Blue will next feature in the ODI series scheduled to take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on December 15 (Sunday).
