IPL 2025, SRH vs RR HIGHLIGHTS: SRH Start Off With A Bang, Claim 44-Run vs RR After Kishan Ton

Game pver. Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs. A stunning display of power hitting with the bat laid the foundation. RR gave it a go thanks largely to Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, but never looked like they could win. 

Shivam Dubey is on fire. The left-hander is playing an incredible cameo and has slammed Pat Cummins for teo sixes in a row. Poor spell by the Australian who has given away 45 runs in 3 overs. Three sixes in total in that over. 

Even if they don't win, these hits will do RR a world of good. 

That could be game over! Dhruv Jurel had to go for big hit, but doesn't get the perfect connection this time. Finds Ishan Kishan at deep mid wicet. Thats the end of a fine knock by Jurel, but Rajasthan Royals might be done now. 

Both Jurel and Samson have scored their respective fifties. But, RR need more heavy efforts to pull off this run chase.

Jurel seems to be on fire at the moment as he smashes Pat Cummins for 20 runs in one over. Despite losing early wickets, RR have done well to capitalise on the powerplay.

Sunrisers Hyderabad put up a show here once again as he has posted the second-highest total in the IPL history. They have scored 286/6 in their 20 overs. Ishan Kishan smashed his maiden IPL ton and played a memorable knock of 106 runs in 47 balls on the back of 11 fours and 6 sixes.

SRH haven't taken a step back after Abhishek's dismissal as Travis Head and Ishan Kishan continue to attack the RR bowlers. The score has gone past in just the seventh over. The tone is set for a big score here in Hyderabad.

"It is great to be back. The core of the group is the same, the coaching staff is the same. Don't think batting or bowling first matters. It is pretty hot, so don't mind bowling second. Would be nice to keep last season's form going. We always encourage our games to play with freedom. Abhi and Heady with hopefully continue from last year, and Nitish and Klassen will be there as well. Ishan Kishan and Abhinav Manohar will be making their debuts," said the SRH captain.

"Bowling first. Looks like a dry wicket so we'll have a crack at it later. (On captaincy) Means a lot, started here as a 17-year-old. Getting to fill in big shoes, very excited. Always good to start well, we have practised a lot," said the RR captain.

Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and have decided to bowl first against SRH in the IPL 2025 match 2 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

"Feels good to be back, seen some pretty good moments last year. Fingers crossed that it can happen early season again to get that momentum that we had. I’m enjoying the fact that Abhi (Abhishek Sharma) has had a really good 12 months, he’s got a lot better than last year and done extremely well on the International stage. Looking forward to supporting him again, and I think he’s going to have a huge year once again. Hopefully, I start well too. It is just about continuing the messaging that we had last year, the relaxed environment we wanted and the expectation that someone will have their day," Travis Head said ahead of SRH's first match of the IPL 2025.

Riyan Parag is all set to captain Rajasthan Royals for the first time in IPL. He will be leading the side for the first three matches of the IPL 2025 as regular skipper Sanju Samson continues to recover from his finger injury and will be playing as a pure batter. RR might use him as an impact substitute as well.
