IPL 2026 Auction: Cameron Green has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders after getting bought for a massive price of Rs 25.20 crore in the IPL 2026 auction on Tuesday. He has become the player with the most expensive bid in IPL history among overseas cricketers. Having arrived in the mini auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore, Green lived up to the hype, and he now has a new team to play for in the 19th edition of the tournament.
The young all-rounder has earned 12 times more money, having played for the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the past. Interestingly, Green made a huge announcement a couple of days before the auction as he confirmed his availability to bowl in the upcoming IPL season.

However, he was kept in the batters category. He is now the third most expensive player in IPL history. Green has overtaken his Aussie teammates Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins to become the most overseas player at an IPL auction. Talking about his IPL career, Green had a promising outing first up with the Mumbai Indians in 2023 as he finished the season with 452 runs on the back of a century and also took six wickets.

He was traded to RCB the following year and was briefly dropped mid-season, finishing the IPL 2024 with 255 runs and 10 wickets from his 13 appearances.
On Tuesday, Green's bidding was initiated by the Mumbai Indians. The next bid was made by the Rajasthan Royals before KKR entered the battle. KKR and RR engaged in a heated bidding war, and both the franchises were keen to bag the services of the star, who has represented Australia in all three formats.
However, the Royals opted out as soon as KKR made a bid of Rs 13.60 crore. When it looked done and dusted in KKR's favour, CSK made a late entry, and both teams sought to outbid each other. After a few ups and downs, KKR managed to buy Green for Rs 25.20 crore. In 29 IPL career matches, Green has scored 707 runs and has 16 wickets to his name so far. He didn't feature in the IPL 2025 as he was recovering from back surgery
