DC vs KKR IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals batter David Miller expressed irritation at being overlooked from DC's playing XI in recent matches, but acknowledged the importance of team composition in the IPL. During the post-match presentation after their loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders, where he was again excluded, Delhi endured their fifth consecutive defeat. Fueled by Finn Allen's match-winning century, the Kolkata franchise secured its fourth win in a row.
Miller admitted that being dropped is difficult, especially for a veteran who has participated since 2012. However, he stressed that the team's overseas balance and tactical decisions are significant.
"It's frustrating. You want to play every game, but that's the nature of the IPL. With only four overseas players allowed in the XI, combinations are crucial for the team," Miller told reporters during the post-match press conference.
The Axar Patel-led team selected Pathum Nissanka as opener and included overseas pace bowlers Mitchell Starc and Lungi Ngidi, resulting in Miller's omission. Despite his frustration, Miller remains eager to contribute to the team.
"I've played in the IPL for years, so I understand team structures. My focus is to keep offering positive feedback, support the squad, and contribute whenever possible," he said.
He emphasized that he is staying ready in case he is selected for the upcoming matches.

"I want to stay prepared and train thoroughly. That's what professionals do, whether opportunities arise or not," he added.
Miller has struggled this season. After seven matches, he has scored only 123 runs at a strike rate of 146.42. Though unbeaten in four games, his top score was 41 off 20 balls against the Shubman Gill-led team last month, remembered for a controversial missed single.
