India vs South Africa 3rd ODI Updates: The ongoing third and final ODI match between India and South Africa witnessed hilarious instances in the first innings, involving star spinner Kuldeep Yadav and senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
While India looked to wrap things up as quickly as possible, Kuldeep spun a web in the death overs. Kuldeep had dismissed Corbin Bosch, which was his third wicket in the match, as South Africa were reduced to 252/8 in 43 overs. With an aim to complete an impressive five-wicket haul, Kuldeep stepped up for his final over and bowled a dot ball first up. Rohit and Virat didn't let go of the opportunity to pull Kuldeep's leg in between as hilarious scenes were on display during the 43rd and 45th over. The left-arm spinner was denied a shot at a review three times, and on all three occasions, the batter was Lungi Ngidi.
On the fifth delivery of the 43rd over, Kuldeep brought one back to hit Ngidi's pads and broke into an appeal. As soon as the umpire shook his head, he started pleading with captain KL Rahul to go for the review. "Le lo, do bache hai," he said. Rohit, standing in the slips, asked Kuldeep to go back to his mark quickly as there was no need for a review. When an adamant Kuldeep still stood his mark, Rohit screamed: "Kya? Pad pe lagne se hi out hai?"

In the very next delivery, there was another big appeal against Ngidi. The umpire once again denied it, and Kuldeep once again pleaded for a review. Rohit, this time, could not stop laughing even as KL Rahul walked to the other end, as it was the last ball of the over. Virat Kohli, who was standing at mid-wicket, joined the banter with a big chuckle at Kuldeep.

The entertainment continued in Kuldeep's next over. Ngidi, who had no clue about the turn of the ball, was beaten on the outside this time. There was another discussion between Rohit, Rahul and Kuldeep, but the Indian bowler was denied again. As per the replays, Rohit was correct not to request a review on all occasions.
Kuldeep, however, got his fourth wicket in the very next ball when he trapped Ngidi in front. This time, the South African used the DRS, but replays showed that the ball would have gone on to clip the stumps.
Earlier, Virat and Rohit were left amazed when Keshav Maharaj's inside edge hit KL on the foot, and it seemed that the stand-in skipper took a miraculous catch off his boot. KL was confident, and the umpires, too, went upstairs. The replay clarified that the ball had hit the ground first, so the decision remained not out. Eventually, the camera panned onto Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who were equally stunned.
Virat, who sat calmly on the ground, hilariously threatened to slap Kuldeep for his kiddish appeal.
In the mid-innings break, Kuldeep admitted that he is not the best judge of a DRS and needs people like Rohit to keep him calm during the match. "In DRS, I'm very bad; he keeps pulling my leg all the time. Whenever I'm bowling, if I hit the pad, I feel like every ball is a wicket. When you have a captain and a former captain like them. KL Rahul has been very good in DRS calls. So you have to have those people around to calm you down, as there are only three available," he told the broadcasters.
