WI vs NEP 3rd T20I: Nepal couldn't continue what it started in their attempt to clean sweep the three-match T20I series against West Indies on Tuesday. Nepal, who had already scripted history by taking a lead of 2-0, ended up losing the third T20I by 10 wickets.
West Indies had scored 123 runs in 7.4 overs while chasing a below-par target of 122 runs.
Nepal did have a flying start as they were 84/3 and then lost the next seven wickets in 6 overs. Gulshan Jha's dismissal began the team's batting collapse, and the pacer Ramon Simmonds registered match-winning figures of 4/15 in the three overs that he had bowled.
Aamir Jangoo scored a brilliant match-winning knock of 74 runs off 45 balls during the 3rd T20I, and Ackeem Auguste scored a gritty knock of 41 runs, in which he had smashed eight sixes and nine fours, and helped the team win the consolation match.
“This series will give a lot of confidence to the boys. We would love to take this momentum into the World Cup qualifiers,” Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel told reporters during the post-match press conference.
The Asia and East Asia Pacific qualifier ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup will start from next week in Oman.
