PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) Chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is under criticism for his actions as ACC (Asian Cricket Council) President during the Asia Cup 2025, has found himself embroiled in another controversy related to Pakistan's flagship T20 League, PSL (Pakistan Super League). It all started with reports of Ali Khan Tareen, owner of the PSL franchise Multan Sultans, getting a legal notice from PCB for criticising the management of the league.
However, the report was confirmed by Tareen, as he released a video on his social media handle (X), stating that he has indeed received a legal notice to issue a public apology for his criticism of the PCB management. Tareen also confirmed that if the apology is not issued, PCB has threatened to 'blacklist' him for the league.
Moreover, Tareen was accused of violating the 10-year franchise agreement and demanded a retraction of his statements in the past.

Tareen, who hardly minces his words in expressing dissatisfaction with the actions of PSL’s management, asserted that there is a lack of communication and transparency, particularly regarding the rebidding process ahead of the league. He also talked about minimum transparency involving the inclusion of two new teams in the upcoming season.
Tareen, in his response, posted a four-minute video on social media, addressing the PSL management. However, Tareen was rather sarcastic rather than apologetic in his comments as he bashed the management yet again.

“If you were more competent, you would know these matters aren’t handled this way," Tareen said. Check out the video here:

He said, "Till today, I have never received a single call, a message, an email, or an invitation — asking, 'Do you have any issues? Come to the office, let’s meet together, address them, and see what we can bring to this league.' Straightaway, a legal notice. If you had even a little bit of sense, you would know such things cannot be managed this way."
He reiterated his passion for the league and his frustration with the administration: "And look, if you think that with threats like this I will stay quiet, that is your misunderstanding, because I love this league. I love it far more than you do because this league belongs to us, to the fans, to all of Pakistan. The way the three of you are running it — this does not belong to you alone. If you actually wanted to, I could work out the issues; you could call me, give me a cup of tea, three biscuits, sit together and talk, and we would make a decision. After that, there would be no public embarrassment. Together, we could make this league top-class."

He stated, "And see, you asked for a public apology. Although my legal team is telling me that an apology is not necessary because we did nothing wrong, but look — a true big man apologises. So I am completely ready to apologise to you. So I apologise: I want the PSL to improve. I apologise that when I saw issues, I raised my voice. and I apologise that I was unhappy that you give each other such high-fives and so little work, as you like."
Tareen finished the video as he tore the legal notice on camera as he mocked PCB by saying - “I hope you like my apology video."
