Mitchell Santner picked his third as he sent packing well-set batters Heinrich Klaasen, Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma. 

Mitchell Santner won the battle between the captains as he removed Temba Bavuma for 56.

"We are not too concerned but the preference would have been to bat, our bowlers need to bowl well and then our batters need to do the job. Just one change, I'm feeling much better. We have had learnings from semi-finals and finals. We need to win the key moments. We are doing a lot of work, lots of confidence, it's another game for us irrespective of it being the semi-final," said the South African skipper.

"We are gonna have a bat first, looks like a good wicket, looks a bit dry. Privileged to captain my country and for us it's to play good cricket. We have the same team. The last game was foreign conditions, we have played a few games here in the tri-series. Will try to play good cricket and put pressure on them," said the New Zealand skipper.

India defeated Australia by 4 wickets in the first semifinal in Dubai on Tuesday. On the back of Virat Kohli's 84-run knock India chased down the 265-run target in 48.1 overs and made it to their third successive Champions Trophy final.

Both teams have faced off in a total of 73 matches with South Africa having an upper hand. They are ahead with a promising margin, having won 42 matches whereas New Zealand have emerged victorious on 26 occasions. 5 matches ended in No Result.

The winner of the South Africa vs New Zealand semifinal match today will face India in the final of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday. A victory for South Africa will maintain their undefeated streak in the tournament.

This will be New Zealand's third appearance in the CT final, whereas second for the Proteas. Both teams are the former champions.

South Africa won ICC Champions Trophy in its inaugural edition way back in 1998 whereas New Zealand won the title in 2000.
