WPL 2026: Australia's star all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner is all set to lead Gujarat Giants in the upcoming season of WPL 2026 as had been revealed by the team. She has played in 25 matches till now and has scored 567 runs, which also includes five half-centuries, at a strike rate of 141.75 in three years.

Apart from her, Beth Mooney is the other player who was retained by the franchise for a whopping amount of Rs 2.5 Cr before the 2026 WPL auction.

“Experience in her stride. Belief in her voice. Ash Gardner steps up once more as our CAPTAIN, primed to take us to glory,” the Giants had written on their social media account.

Gardner, who has been a part of the three-time T20 Women’s World Cup-winning team, has been playing for the Giants since the first season and helped them finish in third position last year, where they lost to the Mumbai Indians by 47 runs.

The upcoming season of the WPL will be held in two phases, one in Navi Mumbai and the other in Vadodara, where the tournament will be held at D. Y. Patil Stadium.
