WTC Points Table 2025-27: South Africa defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the second Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The Proteas wrapped things up well inside four days to bounce back and level the two-match series 1-1.
After putting up a remarkable effort with the ball in the second innings, South Africa chased down the target of 68 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12.3 overs. This was South Africa's first Test win in Pakistan since 2007. For the visitors, Simon Harmer picked up six wickets in the second innings, and two Pakistani batters were sent back to the pavilion by Keshav Maharaj, who finished with figures of 7 for 102 in the first innings.

The memorable win over Pakistan helped South Africa rise from the No. 7 to the No. 5 position in the WTC 2025-27 points table. However, Pakistan have dropped from the No. 2 to the No. 4 position despite winning the first match of the series in Lahore. Both Pakistan and South Africa have 12 points and 50 PCT % each to their credit.

Australia continue to stay at the top of the WTC 2025-27 points table, but Sri Lanka and India are now up by one place each. Sri Lanka have 66.67 PCT%, whereas India have 61.90 PCT%. On the other hand, England dropped from 5th to 6th position with 43.33 PCT% to their credit.

In the ongoing WTC 2025-27 cycle, apart from New Zealand, all other eight teams have played at least one match.
South Africa will next be in action in the away series against the Shubman Gill-led Indian team for two Tests, three ODIs and five T20I matches. The first Test between India and South Africa will be played from November 14 to 18 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium will host the second red-ball match from November 22 to 26.
If India manage to get the better of the Proteas in both the Test matches, then their PCT% will rise from 61.90 to 70.37, and they will rise to the No. 2 position. But if India lose both the matches, then their PCT% will drop to 48.15.
