A Delhi court on Saturday extended the National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, who was recently deported from the United States, for another seven days. Special Judge Prashant Sharma ordered the custody to be extended until December 5 during a hearing conducted at the NIA headquarters amidst tight security arrangements.

Anmol Bishnoi is wanted in connection with several high-profile cases, including the murder of NCP leader Siddique, the firing incident at actor Salman Khan’s residence in April 2024, and the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. He was "removed" (a process similar to deportation) from the US on November 18. He had been in custody in the US since November of last year.

Prior to this extension, on November 19, Anmolwho is the brother and close associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoiwas remanded to 11 days of NIA custody. Anmol had been absconding since 2022 and living in the US. He has now emerged as the 19th accused arrested for his alleged involvement in the terror-gangster syndicate operated by his brother, Lawrence.
