Chinese Visa Racket: Delhi Court Frames Charges Against Karti Chidambaram, CA Bhaskararaman; Next Hearing On Jan 16

On Tuesday, the Rouse Avenue Court framed charges against Congress leader Karti Chidambaram and his chartered accountant, S Bhaskararaman, in connection with the alleged Chinese visa racket case being investigated by the CBI. The court also specifically charged S. Bhaskararaman with destroying crucial evidence related to the matter.

Both accused pleaded not guilty and denied the charges. Consequently, the court has scheduled the next hearing for January 16.

In a key development for the prosecution, the CBI has granted approver status to Vikas Makharia. According to the CBI’s FIR, the allegations center on Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, a private company based in Mansa, Punjab. The agency alleges that the company paid Rs 5,000,000 through intermediaries to utilise influence and expedite the visa process for Chinese nationals.
