Delhi Air Pollution: The national capital remained in the “poor” air quality category with an AQI of 263 at 7 am on Monday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Several flights were delayed as a layer of fog gripped the city. The capital reeled under a cold wave as the minimum temperature dropped by 4.5 degrees Celsius, falling 6.5 degrees below the seasonal average.

The CPCB classifies air quality as “moderate” for AQI levels between 101 and 200, “poor” for 201 to 300, and “very poor” for 301 to 400. AQI readings above 400 are categorised as “severe.”

Delhi is expected to record maximum temperatures between 17 and 19 Degree Celsius and minimum temperatures between 7 and 9 Degree Celsius. While the minimum temperature is likely to remain above normal by 0.1 to 2.1 Degree Celsius, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around the normal range.
