Delhi Traffic Advisory: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of the official programme to be held at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Rajghat today on the occasion of Martyrs' Day.

Several distinguished guests are expected to attend the public event, and hence, tight security arrangements have been made. Traffic movement has been altered in many areas of Central Delhi due to the event.

According to the Delhi Traffic Police, traffic diversions are expected to be implemented at key intersections as needed:

  • ITO Chowk
  • Delhi Gate
  • Guru Nanak Chowk
  • Shantivan Chowk
  • Rajghat DTC Depot
  • IP Flyover.

Timings

This step has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and ensure public safety.

Traffic restrictions, controls, and diversions are expected to be in effect on several major roads from 9 AM to 12 PM

Affected routes include:

  • ITO Chowk to Delhi Gate (BSZ Marg)
  • Shantivan Chowk to IP Flyover
  • Asaf Ali Road from Delhi Gate to NS Marg
  • Shantivan Chowk to Nishad Raj Marg
  • Guru Nanak Chowk to Ranjit Singh Flyover
  • Rajghat DTC Depot to Ring Road Bypass

Advice for commuters

  • Use public transport where possible.
  • Park the vehicle only at designated places.
  • Avoid parking on the roadside to avoid traffic jams.
  • Apart from this, an appeal has been made to immediately inform 112 about any suspicious person or object.

Delhi Police recovered stolen jewellery

Meanwhile, in a major breakthrough, Delhi Police recovered stolen jewellery worth approximately Rs 20 lakh. A complaint was filed at the Kashmere Gate Metro Station on January 22.

According to the complaint, the stolen bag contained gold jewellery and other valuables. Police registered a case under Section 303 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and, after investigation, uncovered the theft.
