Police in Delhi's Jahangirpuri have arrested a couple and their associate, dismantling a racket that allegedly forced a 14-year-old girl into prostitution under the guise of a job offer. The girl was reportedly held captive in hotels in Rohtak, Haryana, where she was sexually assaulted by multiple individuals.

The investigation was initiated after police discovered a social media profile featuring a girl brandishing a weapon. Officers traced the profile to the 14-year-old victim in Jahangirpuri. During questioning, she stated that her identity had been misused to create the fake profile and also revealed that she was two months pregnant. This disclosure led to further inquiry, during which she recounted the details of her trafficking and abuse, prompting immediate police action.

According to the police, the victim's ordeal began 18 months ago when she befriended a woman in Jahangirpuri, who acted as an associate for the trafficking ring. Several months ago, this associate introduced the girl to a couple from Rohtak. The couple lured her away with false promises of event management work. Trusting them, the girl went to Rohtak, where she was confined to two different hotels and repeatedly raped. She successfully escaped her captors in early August and fled to her native village in Uttar Pradesh before eventually returning to Delhi.

Investigations have revealed that the arrested couple had been operating this racket for the past two to three years. Their method involved using their associate to target and groom economically vulnerable teenage girls. The associate would build a close relationship with the victims, often buying them clothes and other items to win their trust before handing them over to the couple.

A team led by Jahangirpuri Station House Officer Satvinder Singh made the arrests. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for human trafficking, rape, and criminal intimidation, as well as under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
