Crowds of passengers heading home for Diwali and Chhath Puja are increasing at railway stations. To facilitate passengers during this festive rush, special trains are being operated. More than 350 trips of special trains will be made from Delhi for Diwali and Chhath Puja.
Passengers have to pay higher fares for these trains, but their problems are increasing due to significant delays. They are reaching their destinations many hours late. Due to their late arrival, their departure for the return journey is also delayed.
The Railway Minister had instructed officials to take necessary steps to run the festive special trains on time. Despite this, most trains are running late. Officials say that trains are being delayed due to safety-related work and other reasons at several locations. Necessary steps are being taken to reduce the inconvenience to passengers.
