With the announcement of the Municipal Corporation by-elections in the capital, Delhi, the BJP, along with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has started gearing up for victory. Polling is scheduled to be held on the upcoming November 30 for two seats in the Deoli Assembly constituency of South Delhi district: Ward 163-Sangam Vihar-A and Ward 164-Dakshinpuri.
The responsibility for both wards has been given to Minister Pravesh Singh. In a 'Jan Samvad' (Public Dialogue) program held in Sangam Vihar-A ward on Thursday, Minister Pravesh Verma said that the government is resolving public problems on a priority basis.
In fact, these two seats became vacant after the Sangam Vihar-A ward councilor, Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, became the MLA from Sangam Vihar, and the Dakshinpuri ward councilor, Prem Chauhan, became the MLA from the Deoli Assembly. The BJP has appointed state vice-president and MDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh as the convener for Sangam Vihar-A ward and former mayor Jai Prakash for Dakshinpuri ward.
Only BJP Will Solve The Water Problem
During the public dialogue, Pravesh Verma stated that only the BJP government will provide a permanent solution to the area's water and sewer problems. Every house will be connected to a water pipeline and sewer line. A sufficient water supply will be ensured according to the area's water quota.
Meanwhile, South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that an AAP MLA has been winning from this area for the last four terms. He stated that the AAP government paid no attention to the worsening problems. Now, the BJP government of Delhi has taken up the responsibility for the area's development. Delhi State BJP Vice President Dinesh Pratap Singh, South District BJP President Maya Bisht, MLA Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, and others were present on this occasion.
Black Flags Shown To Pravesh Verma
AAP workers, who were on their way to show black flags to Water Minister Pravesh Verma, were detained by the police well in advance. The protest on behalf of AAP was led by AAP MLA Prem Chauhan. Chauhan said that there is a severe water shortage in the area, but Water Minister Pravesh Verma is not resolving it.
The people of the Deoli Assembly constituency complain that 20 government water tankers used to come here, but they have been removed and diverted to the area of a BJP MLA. The people of this area are grappling with a water crisis. The number of 70 tankers that were previously available has also been reduced.
