Following a recent call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi government resolved to ensure the provision of clean water, toilets, and bathing facilities in slums. Under this initiative, South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri laid the foundation stone for the construction and renovation of toilets in more than 12 slums in his constituency, at a cost of 10 crore rupees. He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for promptly making the funds available.

Focus On Sanitation And Women's Safety

He said that that this would not only make cleanliness and sanitation possible in the slum clusters but would also ensure the safety and dignity of women.

List Of Beneficiary Slum Clusters In Badarpur, Kalkaji And Tughlakabad

He stated that toilets will be built in the Prasad Nagar slum cluster of the Badarpur area, Indira Camp of Sriniwaspuri in Kalkaji, the slum camp behind Okhla Railway Station, six slum clusters of Harkesh Nagar ward in Tughlakabad, Sanjay Colony, New Sanjay Camp, Indira Kalyan Vihar, two slum clusters of Pul Prahladpur ward—near Mata Mandir and behind the petrol pump—and in Janta Jeevan Camp and the Dakshinpuri slum cluster in the Devli area.

Present on the occasion were South District BJP President Maya Bisht, Municipal Councillor Rajpal Singh, Nominated Municipal Councillor Rohtas Kumar Advocate and Municipal Councillor Mamta Pawan, among others.
