A major security lapse took place at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport when a British national who arrived from Bangkok allegedly fled the immigration area and escaped. The incident took place on October 28, when the passenger, identified as Fitz Patrick, a British citizen holding passport number 55819.
Patrick was travelling aboard Air India flight AI 333 from Bangkok with a layover in New Delhi. A case has been registered against Patrick in the matter, and the concerned airline staff had been questioned. Several teams were formed to trace the person, and they are working based on technical and human intelligence.

How Did The British National Escaped?
The British national allegedly evaded security personnel and managed to exit the restricted area without completing the mandatory formalities. Subsequently, authorities suspect that he may have slipped out through an unsecured section of the arrival zone.
Over 100 Flights Delayed Amid Technical Glitch
Meanwhile, chaos was witnessed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Friday morning after over 100 flights were delayed amid technical issues with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. The airport authority advised the passengers to keep a check on their flight status to avoid inconvenience. Several flights faced delays of more than 30 minutes.
"Due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, flight operations at IGIA are experiencing delays. Their team is actively working with all stakeholders, including DIAL to resolve it at the earliest," stated an official statement from the airport authority.
"Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused, the authority advised passengers.
