CBSE Class 10 Bi-Annual Board Exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved draft guidelines for conducting Class 10 board exams twice a year, starting in 2026. Officials announced on Tuesday that the draft norms will be made public for stakeholder feedback until March 9, after which the final policy will be implemented.

According to the draft guidelines, the first phase of exams will be conducted from February 17 to March 6, while the second phase will take place from May 5 to 20. Both exams will cover the entire syllabus and students will be assigned the same examination centre for both sessions.

While the board exams will be conducted twice a year, practical and internal assessments will still be held only once per academic year. This change is expected to provide students with greater flexibility while maintaining a rigorous assessment structure.

The move aligns with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP), which aims to reduce the high-stakes pressure of board exams. Under the new system, students can appear for the exams twice and choose the session where they perform better.
