Delhi University Election Result 2024: The counting of votes for the long-pending Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections began at 8 am today at North Campus, nearly two months after polling took place. The results, initially scheduled for September 28, were delayed due to a Delhi High Court stay order. The results are expected to be declared by 4 pm today, November 25.
The delay in counting was caused by a court order addressing election-related grievances. However, violations of the High Court's directive on defacement were visible, with roads across the campus littered with posters and pamphlets.
Results will be announced for four key positions: president, vice president, general secretary, and joint secretary. A total of 21 candidates are in the fray, with eight contesting for the President's post, five for Vice President, and four each for Secretary and Joint Secretary.

The counting is being conducted under heavy security, with Delhi Police implementing a three-layer barricading system at the North Campus counting centre. According to media reports, Delhi University has asked all candidates to sign an affidavit pledging not to use dhols, loudspeakers, firecrackers, or pamphlets after the results are announced.
Key players in the elections include the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Congress-backed National Students' Union of India (NSUI), and the Left-alliance comprising the All India Students' Association (AISA) and Students' Federation of India (SFI).
