ICAI May Postpone CA May-June Exams 2024 Due To General Elections; Details Inside

ICAI CA May-June Exams 2024: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) may postpone the CA Foundation, Final, and Intermediate examinations for the May session if the dates overlap with the general elections in 2024. The CA May exam 2024 registration window for the without late fee has been closed on Feb 23, 2024. The General Election for the 18th Lok Sabha will be held this year, and the notification is pending.

Given the forthcoming elections, the institute said, “The Examination Committee may reschedule the May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of the General Election coincide with the present examination schedule.”

The committee also added, “decided that there should be a cooling off period for one attempt after three (3) consecutive attempts for observership duties”.

The ICAI has recently announced the eligibility requirements for being appointed as observers. The committee's qualifications include applicants who are not above the age of 65, are not coaching students, and do not have a criminal background.

The ICAI announced that an honorarium of Rs 3,000 per day or each session, Rs 350 in conveyance reimbursement for 'A' class cities, and Rs 250 per day for other cities will be paid to cover the cost of local travel. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Pune are classified as ''A'' cities.

The registration window for interested applicants wishing to register as observers will conclude on March 5 at observers.icaiexam.icai.org.

According to the timetable, candidates who did not submit their applications for the CA examinations 2024 by the deadline will be eligible to register by paying a late fee of Rs 600, or $10. From March 3 to 9, all registered candidates can make revisions to their filed forms. CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final test registration forms must be completed on the official website, eservices.icai.org.
