The University Grants Commission (UGC) has established five zonal committees aimed at assisting universities in formulating a comprehensive strategy for the successful execution of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). These committees will cover the northern, northeastern, eastern, western, southern, and central regions, and are composed of vice-chancellors representing central, state, private, and deemed universities.
The Maharaj Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, is hosting the first conference focusing on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the Western Zone. The conference is scheduled for October 26, 2023, and will be conducted from 9 am to 5 pm.
“The UGC has been striving to fulfil the vision of the National Education Policy (NEp), 2020 and ensure that the benefits reach a large section of the aspirational youth in a time-bound manner. In order to facilitate the universities to develop a road map for the effective implementation of significant initiatives, UGC has constituted five zonal committees with Vice Chancellors of Central Universities, State Universities, Private Universities, and Deemed to be Universities. The Committees have been Constituted in five zones namely the Northern, North Eastern & Eastern, Western, Southern and Central Zones,” reads the official notification.
“As the Conference is of very high relevance and significance for all the stakeholders, UGC requests the Universities and Colleges to join the live streaming of the conference for the benefit of faculty, students, and staff,” reads further.
