Punjab School Holiday: The Punjab government today ordered the closure of all government, government-aided and private schools, colleges, universities and polytechnic institutions across the state till September 7, 2025. Earlier, the holiday was ordered till today i.e. September 3, now it has been extended to September 7.

State Education Minister Harjot Bains has shared this update on his official x account. The tweet reads, "As per the instructions of Hon'ble Chief Minister Punjab Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann Ji, in view of the flood situation, all government/aided/recognised and private schools, colleges, universities and polytechnic institutions across Punjab will remain closed till September 7, 2025. All are requested to strictly follow the guidelines of the local administration."

Devastating Floods in Punjab Claim 30 Lives, Affect Over 3.5 Lakh People:

Punjab is facing severe floods due to the overflowing of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers and seasonal drains following heavy rains in the catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rains in Punjab have worsened the flood situation in the state. Nature's fury has affected entire Punjab, claiming 30 lives and affecting over 3.50 lakh people.

Due to bad weather, schools and other educational institutions will remain closed till September 7. Earlier, the government had announced the closure of educational institutions till September 3, which has now been extended.
