School Holiday On September 5: Due to Incessant rains, overflowing rivers and the general unsafe condition state governments and local administrations have declared holidays for schools, colleges and other educational institutions in several areas.
Schools will remain closed in states like Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh due to incessant rains and flood-like situation. School holidays in Punjab have been extended till September 7 due to deteriorating weather.
School Holiday In Uttar Pradesh:
Schools will remain closed today i.e. on 4th September, due to continuous heavy rains in four cities of Uttar Pradesh, namely Meerut, Mathura, Hapur and Agra. All government and private schools in the area will remain closed for students up to class 12. Notification for opening of schools will be issued soon.
School Holiday In Haryana:
In Haryana too, schools will remain closed today in 4 cities, namely Ambala, Jhajjar, Kaithal and Rohtak due to heavy rains and flood-like conditions. All government and private schools in this area will remain closed. Schools in Jhajjar will remain closed till September 6; however, as per the notification issued, employees will remain on duty.
School Holiday In Punjab, Himachal & Chandigarh Until Sept 7:
Schools in Punjab will remain closed till September 7 due to deteriorating weather. The state has been experiencing flood-like situation, due to which all schools and colleges have been shut for the past week.
Schools in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed till September 7. All government and private schools, colleges and Anganwadi centers will remain closed till September 7 due to continuous rain and heavy rainfall.
Chandigarh authorities on Wednesday extended the closure of all schools till September 7 due to incessant rain. "In view of the prevailing inclement weather condition in the region, all schools in UT Chandigarh shall remain closed till September 7," an official statement said.
Schools Holiday in Jammu:
In view of adverse weather conditions and as a precautionary measure, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg has ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, universities and coaching centres across Kashmir today (September 4).
