Students in Madhya Pradesh will receive ample holidays to celebrate Dussehra and Diwali. The School Education Department is offering 17 days of holidays in October. The first holiday will be on October 1st. There are two such occasions throughout the month where taking one or two days off will result in a week or nine consecutive days of leave.

Schools in Bhopal, the capital, will be closed on the ninth day of Navratri, while a holiday has been declared on the tenth day, October 2, in celebration of Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. According to the holiday circular issued by the schools, this is a three-day Dussehra holiday.

In Uttar Pradesh, schools will remain closed on 29 and 30 September 2025 for Durga Puja, including Maha Saptami and Maha Ashtami. Schools in West Bengal closed from September 24 to October 6 due to Durga Puja. Holiday dates may vary slightly for government and private schools. Classes will resume after October 6.

There is no official confirmation related to Mumbai Schools being closed on 30 September 2025. However if the rain intesifies then students can expect schools to be closed on 30 Septmeber 2025. 

The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai, Nashik, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, and Pune, indicating very heavy rainfall. Nashik, Palghar, Dhule, and Nandurbar remain on red alert while Mumbai city and suburbs are on a yellow alert for moderate rain. Thane and Raigad have been placed under orange alerts. The heavy rains are forecast to continue until September 30.

The IMD has forecast that rainfall intensity will continue to decrease on September 30, although some regions may still experience showers and thunderstorms.

Konkan Region: Moderate rainfall is expected in Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, while Mumbai and Thane will likely see light to moderate showers.

Western Maharashtra: Light to moderate rain is expected in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur. Moderate rainfall is also likely over the ghat areas.

Marathwada: Light to moderate showers will affect districts like Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Latur, and Dharashiv. Nanded, however, has been placed under a yellow alert due to the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds.

North Maharashtra: Light to moderate rain is expected in Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and surrounding areas, with no specific alerts for these districts.

Vidarbha: Clear skies and sunny weather are expected across districts like Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, and Wardha, with no rainfall anticipated.

Intense flooding is currently occurring in Solapur, Ahmednagar, and Satara. State officials warn of significant agricultural devastation and infrastructural disruption.

West Bengal: Schools in West Bengal closed from September 24 to October 6 due to Durga Puja. 

Assam: School holidays have been declared in Assam till September 30 for Dussehra and schools will remain closed on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanti.

Delhi: As per a notification from the Delhi Directorate of Education, school holidays have been declared from September 29 to October 1. However, private schools may experience changes to the holiday dates. Clsses will resume on October 3.

Uttar Pradesh: School holidays have been declared in Uttar Pradesh on October 1 and 2 for Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti.

Bihar: In the similar manner, school holidays have been declared in Bihar from September 27 to October 2. Moreover, holidays have been extended till October 5 in some districts.

Jharkhand: As per the official notification, the government schools in Dhanbad will remain closed from September 27 to October 2. 

Odisha: Schools in Odisha will remain closed from September 29 to October 2 and are likely to reopen pn October 3.
