School Holiday Due to Rain: As of September 28, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a "red alert" for heavy rainfall in the Mumbai metropolitan region, including Thane, Raigad, and Palghar. Heavy rains have also caused floods and waterlogging in the Marathwada region and other parts of the state. Considering the situation, the Maharashtra state government has directed all district administrations to be on high alert until September 30, 2025.
The state of Telangana has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past few days. Heavy downpours since Friday, September 26, especially in Hyderabad, have waterlogged key IT corridors and low-lying residential areas. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports, the entire state of Telangana is under yellow alert for September 29, 2025.
