Tamil Nadu half-yearly exams 2023 Dates: The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday decided to postpone the state's half-yearly exams by two days in order to give students more time to study for the flood-hit students. According to the new schedule, the half-yearly exams for state board students will be held from Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Earlier, the exams were slated to start today, December 11, 2023.

“Schools will identify students who have lost their books, notebooks, uniforms and school bags on Monday. Those students will get new books and notebooks on Tuesday. Considering these children cannot prepare for exams without textbooks, it has been directed to postpone the half-yearly exams to Wednesday,” reads the notification.

According to the revised schedule, classes 6 to 12 TN half yearly exam will be conducted from December 13 to 22. The schools will commence their classes on December 11, 2023. For the purpose of cleaning the premises of schools affected by the heavy rains and flooding in Chennai and three other neighboring districts, the government has allocated Rs 1.90 crore. Students whose textbooks were lost or damaged by floods or rain would receive new ones on December 12.

Due to the cyclone 'Michaung' the schools were closed from December 4 to 9 in Chennai, Chengelpet, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur districts.
