NCERT Foundation Day: Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the event organised on the 65th Foundation Day of NCERT and launched the DIKSHA 2.0 portal. He also released a book 'Utkal Jananinkar Sujogya Santan' based on the lives and contributions of 100 great personalities of Odisha.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan expressed happiness to be with the NCERT family and inaugurate several new educational initiatives. Extending his best wishes to NCERT, Shri Pradhan described it as an iconic institution situated at the heart of India's education system. He said that NCERT has been a pillar of the country's educational landscape, shaping the destiny of generations of students with unparalleled commitment and dedication.

About DIKSHA 2.0 Portal:
1. DIKSHA 2.0 An advanced digital platform that is fully responsive and compatible with multiple devices.
2. It offers structured lessons, adaptive assessments and AI-powered tools like reading aloud and translation of text files in 12 Indian languages.
3. It also shared direct feedback from students who have benefited from DIKSHA and explained how the platform is facilitating learner-specific learning and empowering both teachers and students.
Gyan-Kumbh For Nation Building:
Describing NCERT as not just an institution but a 'Gyan-Kumbh', the Education Minister emphasised that it has come a long way since its inception, especially in nation building through education. Today, it must accept its role as a transformational leader and also adopt a new avatar; one that is reform-oriented, technology-driven and focused on best practices.
We have to build a prosperous India by 2047. The goal of a prosperous India will be realised only when we develop critical and creative thinking in our students. NCERT must strive to promote multilingualism to foster critical thinking in the 'Amrit Generation'. It must also find ways to transform knowledge into capability, he said.
I am confident that NCERT will drive educational reforms, bring about a paradigm shift in teaching and learning and play a key role in realising the goal of a prosperous India, he added.
Develop Creative And Critical Thinking For Samridhh Bharat By 2047:
The Minister particularly emphasised that building a 'Samridhh Bharat' (prosperous India) by 2047 will be possible only when students are encouraged to develop critical and creative thinking skills. He urged NCERT to promote multilingualism to promote critical thinking in Amrit education and work towards transforming knowledge into competency.
Shri Pradhan expressed confidence that NCERT will drive educational reforms, bring about a paradigm shift in teaching and learning and play a key role in realising the vision of a prosperous India.
