UP Police Paper Leak: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced that the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2023 has been cancelled after the paper was leaked. The Chief Minister has also asked the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) to conduct a re-examination within six months. This came after lakhs of aspirants protested against the paper leak and demanded cancellation and re-examination of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath tweets, "@Uppolice Orders have been given to cancel the examination-2023 conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct re-examination within the next 06 months. There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements."

Candidates from many districts of the state demanded the cancellation of the examination. Alleged that the examination was rigged on a large scale with the question paper being leaked. Recently, in Prayagraj, hundreds of candidates appearing for the constable recruitment examination came out on the streets demanding the cancellation of the examination.

Complaints regarding the RO/ARO exam will be investigated, government will ask for evidence
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also decided to investigate the complaints related to the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination - 2023 conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on February 11.

- Additional Chief Secretary, Appointment and Personnel issued the order.
- For the purpose of purity and transparency of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination - 2023, it has been decided that the complaints received regarding the examination should be examined at the government level.
- If anyone wishes to bring to notice any kind of complaint regarding this examination or facts affecting its sanctity, then he/she may send his/her name and full address along with evidence to the e-mail ID of the Personnel and Appointment Department. Can be made available on secyappoint@nic.in till 27 February 2024.
UP Police Recruitment Exam 2023: Number of Vacancies
The written examination of constable recruitment was held in two shifts in all the districts on the scheduled dates of 17th and 18th February. Candidates were given admission only after biometric verification during the examination at 2,385 examination centres in the state. There were 15,48,969 women candidates among the total 48,17,441 candidates for recruitment to 60,244 posts of Reserve Civil Police. 12,04,360 candidates appeared in each shift.
