UPSC CSE, IFS 2026 Registration Date: In a major relief for civil service aspirants, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the UPSC CSE and IFS exam 2026. Earlier, the last date for registration was February 24, 2026, but it has been pushed by three days.
As per the official statement available on the UPSC website, “The last date for submission of online Application form for the Civil Services Examination, 2026 and Indian Forest Service Examination, 2026 has now been extended by three (03) days, i.e., till 27.02.2026 (up to 06:00 P.M.)."

UPSC CSE, IFS 2026 Registration Date: Reasons For Extension
The authorities took this decision after many candidates faced "404 error" messages and were unable to complete their application form due to a massive surge in traffic on the last date. Some faced technical glitches and server errors while logging in to upsconline.nic.in.

UPSC CSE, IFS 2026 Registration: Steps To Apply
Since the deadline has been extended, candidates must not wait for the last date to complete their application process. Follow the given steps to register for the UPSC CSE, IFS exam 2026.
Step 1: Go to the official website at upsconline.nic.in.
Step 2: Login with your existing credentials or complete your One-Time Registration (OTR).
Step 3: Using the above credentials, complete your application form with personal, educational, and communication details.
Step 4: Upload scanned images of required documents such as photographs, signature, and certificates.
Step 5: Pay the application fee through online payment modes.
Step 6: Carefully check all the details before submitting the form.
UPSC CSE, IFS 2026: Application Fee
Candidates need to pay the non-refundable application fee through online payment modes like credit/debit/UPI/net banking. Category-wise application fee details are as follows.

Aspirants who have already registered and submitted the application form need not to reapply. The authorities have requested candidates to use the extended deadline effectively and complete their application process without any errors before the new deadline.
