UPSC Success Stories: The inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on January 22, 2024, made history. IFS officer Vidushi Singh's success story is garnering a lot of attention, especially considering her close ties to Ayodhya. Ayodhya played a pivotal role in shaping her life.
Even though the UPSC exam is one of the hardest in the world, Vidushi Singh, who was 21 years old, cleared it on her first attempt. Despite being born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, she has strong ties to Ayodhya through her family. After passing the written exam, Vidushi was called in for an interview, where she was asked questions about Ayodhya.
Commencing her UPSC preparation after completing her graduation in 2020, Vidushi acquired her degree from the esteemed Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, in 2021 with a BA Honors in Economics. Notably, she pursued her UPSC aspirations without the help of coaching, simultaneously preparing for a government job while attending college.
Vidushi Singh obtained 1039 marks in the UPSC CSE 2022 exam and an additional 184 marks in the interview round, placing her in an impressive 13th rank. Opting for economics as her optional subject, Vidushi chose the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) over the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), honoring her grandparents' dream of seeing her become a government officer in the Indian Foreign Service.
In various media reports, Vidushi has shared insights into her success story. She emphasized the importance of attempting numerous test series and mock tests, highlighting self-study as the primary key to her success, steering clear of reliance on coaching classes.
