Uttarakhand School Holiday Tomorrow: Due to cloudburst and relentless rain in Dehradun from the past few days, the government has declared a school holiday on September 16, 2025. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in Uttarakhand for September 17, 2025. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Uttarakhand on September 17, 2025. Students can check the latest weather updates here: Dehradun has been put on high alert due to a cloudburst on the night of September 15, 2025. The incessant rain has lashed the city and also triggered massive destruction in the Sahastradhara area. Hoses and shops are burried in debris. the IT park locality is also badly affected.
Considering the severity of the situation, the local administration has ordered the closure of all government, non-government, and private schools up to Class 12 for September 16, 2025.
IMD Alert In Uttarakhand:
Thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts on September 17, 2025. Nainital is likely to experience heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Pawri Garhwal, and Almora district of Uttarakhand can expect thunderstorms, lightning, and squall. Continuous heavy rains may trigger landslides and waterlogging in low-lying areas. As per IMD alearts, Uttarakhand may experience winds of over 87 kmph. Residents have been advised to exercise extreme caution.
