After the NDA allies unanimously chose Narendra Modi as their leader, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked all its MPs and Chief Ministers to reach Delhi by tonight in a bid to keep the flock together. The Saffron Party is also holding a rigorous brainstorming at party chief JP Nadda’s house over the future course of action. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are among the key attendees.
Nadda and Shah also held a meeting with former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, followed by another meeting with railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, commerce minister Piyush Goyal, party general secretaries Tarun Chugh and Vinod Tawde, among others.

Tawde said the meetings were convened to evaluate the BJP’s performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election.
Meanwhile, Narendra Modi is likely to take oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on June 9. The Chief Election Commissioner and his team will present the list of newly elected members to the President. After this, the process of forming the government will begin.
The BJP-led NDA has surpassed the majority mark but failed to attain a majority on its own. It has to now rely on its allies, including the two major ones-- JDU and TDP. The TDP won 16 of the 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, while the JDU claimed 12 of the 40 seats in Bihar. Modi had set a target of more than 400 seats for his National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
