Rajnandgaon Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Rajnandgaon represents a legislative constituency Chhattisgarh and is a constituent of the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Situated in the Rajnandgaon district within the central region of Chhattisgarh, it is classified as an urban constituency.
The constituency comprises a total of 197,480 registered voters, consisting of 97,597 male voters and 99,879 female voters. During the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Rajnandgaon witnessed a voter turnout of 78.66 per cent. In 2013, the turnout was 82.36 per cent, and in 2008, it stood at 78.64 per cent.
This year, Chhattisgarh is preparing for a competitive electoral battle between the current ruling party, the Congress, and its primary adversary, the BJP. The BJP is banking on the considerable popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the notion of a "double-engine government," a phrase frequently highlighted by the party during state Assembly election campaigns. On the other hand, the Congress is placing a significant emphasis on the issue of corruption in the lead-up to the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023.

Rajnandgaon Assembly Election 2023:
On August 17, the BJP released its preliminary lineup of 21 candidates for the forthcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. Nevertheless, the party has not disclosed its nominee for the Rajnandgaon constituency. Likewise, the Congress party is presently in the process of announcing its list of contenders for the Chhattisgarh elections.
Arun Sao, the Chhattisgarh BJP president, expressed confidence in the party's prospects in the upcoming assembly elections, stating that, "In the last five years, Bhupesh Baghel-led government has turned Chhattisgarh into a hub of crime and corruption. It cheated and looted all sections of the state and the development work is at a standstill. The people of Chhattisgarh have understood that the future of the state is safe in the hands of the BJP... Definitely, the lotus will bloom in Chhattisgarh in November."
Rajnandgaon Assembly Election 2018:
In 2018, Raman Singh from the BJP secured victory in the constituency, surpassing Karuna Shukla of the Congress by a margin of 16,933 votes.
Rajnandgaon Assembly Election 2013:
In 2013, Raman from the BJP emerged victorious with a lead of 35,866 votes, which accounted for 24.15 per cent of the vote share. Raman garnered 58.45 per cent of the overall votes cast in the election.
