Dongargarh Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Dongargarh is a legislative assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh, and it is part of the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Dongargarh is located in the Rajnandgaon district within the central region of Chhattisgarh. This constituency is classified as a rural seat.

There is a total of 1,94,042 voters in the Dongargarh constituency, consisting of 97,473 male voters and 96,562 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Dongargarh witnessed a voter turnout of 82.53 per cent. In 2013, the turnout was 82.51 per cent, and in 2008, it was 76.55 per cent.

This year, Chhattisgarh is preparing for a competitive electoral battle between the current ruling party, the Congress, and its primary adversary, the BJP. The BJP is banking on the considerable popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the notion of a "double-engine government," a phrase frequently highlighted by the party during state Assembly election campaigns. On the other hand, the Congress is placing a significant emphasis on the issue of corruption in the lead-up to the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023.

Dongargarh Assembly Election 2023:

The BJP revealed its initial list of 21 candidates for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections on August 17. However, the party has not yet made public its candidate for the Dongargarh constituency. Similarly, the Congress party is currently in the process of unveiling its roster of candidates for the Chhattisgarh elections.

Arun Sao, the Chhattisgarh BJP president, expressed confidence in the party's prospects in the upcoming assembly elections, stating that, "In the last five years, Bhupesh Baghel-led government has turned Chhattisgarh into a hub of crime and corruption. It cheated and looted all sections of the state and the development work is at a standstill. The people of Chhattisgarh have understood that the future of the state is safe in the hands of the BJP... Definitely, the lotus will bloom in Chhattisgarh in November."

Dongargarh Assembly Election 2018:

In 2018, Bhuneshwar Shobharam Baghel from the Congress secured victory in the constituency, defeating Sarojani Banjare of the BJp by a margin of 35,418 votes.

Dongargarh Assembly Election 2013:

In 2013, Sarojani Banjare of the BJP secured victory in the constituency with a margin of 4,684 votes, which accounted for 3.2 per cent of the total votes. Sarojani Banjare received 45.82 per cent of the total votes cast.
