New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: In view of the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party has kept the option open for the CM face against Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah in an interview with CNN-News18 on Wednesday said that the people of Delhi are now considering the BJP as an option due to the disappointment they faced in the rule of the Kejriwal government.
Home Minister Shah is confident enough about winning the Delhi elections 2020 and has not been deterred by the miserable performance of the BJP in the last assembly elections in Delhi where it can only manage three 3 seats out of 70. He said that the disenchantment among the people of Delhi for the Aam Aadmi Party is giving him the confidence that there will be a change in guard in Delhi.
While talking to CNN-News18 Home Minister Amit Shah, on the question of whether the curtain on CM face in Delhi till now has been a disadvantage for the party or not? He said, that the party will think about it at the appropriate time, “It’s not like we won't discuss a CM face. The party will think about it”, he said.
Still, the Home Minister is confident that people will choose the BJP over AAP in the national capital, as the people have been supported them in the Lok Sabha elections and the MCD elections in Delhi. “I have confidence that because of the disenchantment with the AAP government, only the BJP is an alternative. This is because in the MCD and Lok Sabha polls we were the single largest party and won with a defining margin”, he said as reported by CNN-News18.
However, the recent responses from Kejriwal on the policies the central government has brought have been softened unlike his harsh comments made on the works of the Modi government earlier. He also was the first one to praise the revocation of Article 370 from Kashmir.

Considering the responses of Kejriwal as a trick to gain votes, Amit Shah said, “that is fine. There is no correlation between performance and this. If one thinks that votes are garnered on the basis of these surface comments, I don't believe in that philosophy. Your performance on the ground plays a major role”.
“We will achieve excellent results there. We won all three municipal corporations there. We won all the Lok Sabha seats and the disenchantment with the current government is evident,” Shah added in the interview to CNN-News18.
