KARNATAKA Assembly Election 2023: The state of Karnataka is all set to conduct elections in the 224-member Legislative Assembly on May 10 while the results for the high-stake polls will be declared on May 13. The state will witness a power tussle between the two main parties comprising the opposition Congress and the party in power BJP.

Bellary City is an assembly constituency in Karnataka. Bellary City Assembly constituency falls under the Bellary Lok sabha constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Y. Devendrappa won from Bellary Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 55707 votes by defeating V. S. Ugrappa of the Indian National Congress.

This year, from the bellary city constituency the Bharatiya Janta Party has fielded Gali Somashekhara Reddy, while Congress has fileded Nara Bharath Reddy. And, Aam AAdmi Party has fielded Erriswamy.

This General Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 12.44% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 10.48%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission, 2008. The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls in is 67.43%, according the Census of India, 2011.

In 2018, G. Somasekhara Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat by defeating Anil.h. Lad of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 16155 votes.

In the 2018 Assembly polls, there were a total of 233284 eligible electors, of which 115153 were male, 118113 female and 18 electors of the third gender.
